Carolyn Cott’s music traverses divergent styles, but her lyrics are variations on a theme: an in-depth exploration of matters of the heart, from subtle, nuanced disclosure to strident proclamation.  A professional writer, Carolyn brings an element of literacy to her craft, painting vignettes with words and melody that take the listener on a journey rich in feeling.

The Carolyn Cott Trio has played at Upper Merion Concerts Under the Stars for three consecutive seasons, where they've opened for John Gorka and Lori McKenna.  Other performances include Chaplin's Music Cafe, Milkboy Coffee House, Democracy Cafe, Steel City Coffee House, Chaplin's Music Cafe, and the Academy of Arts in Bath.  Carolyn performs on acoustic guitar and vocals with Mike DeNaro on acoustic lead guitar and Maryanne Mara on vocals.

A Pennsylvania native, Carolyn has also lived in Boulder, Colorado and Bath, England.  She is raising two daughters adopted from China.
